Couples First Steps Session - from $497

Sometimes you may both want to move forward constructively, but feel unsure about where to begin, what needs to be resolved, or how to have the conversations needed to get there.

The Couples First Step Session provides a supported and collaborative space to help you and your former partner understand where things currently stand, identify the issues requiring attention, and explore practical pathways forward.

The process includes individual intake and suitability screening for each person, followed by an up to 90-minute facilitated online session together.

During the joint session, we can:

  • identify the key parenting, financial or practical issues requiring attention

  • clarify each person's priorities, concerns and goals

  • identify areas of agreement and where further discussion or support may be needed

  • support constructive communication around difficult or unresolved issues

  • explore appropriate resolution and professional support pathways

  • develop clear and practical next steps for moving forward

This session may be particularly valuable where you both:

  • want to approach separation as amicably and collaboratively as possible

  • feel stuck or uncertain about what needs to happen next

  • have been struggling to discuss parenting or financial matters constructively

  • want to avoid unnecessary conflict, legal costs or escalation

  • are considering mediation, collaborative separation facilitation or other resolution pathways and want help determining what may best suit your circumstances

  • Assessment of suitability for the available collaborative separation pathways

  • An Intake Summary, providing guidance on:

    • suitability for a collaborative pathway

    • next steps to foster clarity and preparedness for discussions and decisions regardless of the pathway taken

    • whether traditional or alternative pathway may be more appropriate

  • Consultation with other collaborative professionals as to intake outcome, where appropriate, to support a well-rounded and informed assessment

  • Bonus access to Avoiding Post-Separation Conflict, Financial Separation Made Easy and Conscious Post Separation Parenting, supporting both parties to focus on outcomes that best serve their separating family moving froward and navigate the legal and practical aspects the separation process with clarity, confidence, calm and reduced conflict.
